YNARES ECO-SYSTEM (YES) TO GREEN PROGRAM
In cooperation with the Ynares Eco-System Organization, San Isidro Elementary School conducted a Tree Planting Activity and Clean-Up Drive to support the objectives of the Green Program.
The 65 participants including pupils and advisers assembled at SIES Covered Court and exactly 6 o’clock in the morning as planned, they went to their designated places to perform their assigned tasks. They cleaned the area from the bridge near the SPED Center Extending to the Intersection of C. Lawis and Circum. Road. . Planting of seedlings were done at the open area beside of the New 2 -storey PPP Building of San Isidro Building, C. Lawis Extension, Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City.
The willingness of each member was evident as shown on their faces while doing their responsibilities.
The activity ended at 9 o’clock A.M. with a hope that the goals of the said movement be achieved and improved in the succeeding years.
Earthquake drill
“The Philippines is in the Pacific "Ring of Fire," where earthquakes and volcanic activity are common so we need to prepare ourselves to avoid loss of lives”, Jochim Dagsa, the in-charge told the journalist.
Students from kinder to grade VI pupils, morning shift participated in the drill.
Teachers even joined in practicing the children in getting out from their room in case of an earthquake.
According to Dagsa, the siren signals the student to ready themselves.
“The first siren is a sign that the students should place their hands on their heads and find a safe place like hiding under the desk or table. The second siren means that the students should get out from their classrooms”, he added.
Dagsa discouraged pushing and panicking while going down the stairs.
The earthquake drill lasted for 30 minutes.
