SIES rekindles Children's Interest in Reading

               

            San Isidro Elementary School participated in the 2014 National Reading Month Celebration (NRMC) to support the Ten-Point Agenda of the Aquino administration and to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino.

With the year’s theme: “Nasa Pagbasa ang Pag-asa”, SIES joined to hold activities that suggested in the DepEd Memorandum 121,s 2014.

Odessa Alejandro, school English coordinator asks help from the members of the English Knowledge Circle and chairpersons in making NRMC a successful one.

Alejandro said to them," Let’s give meaning to the NRMC because it promotes reading and literacy among our learners and this will inspire them to learn and read more”.

All grade level including the kindergarten participated in the activities like Read a Book Win a Friend, “Araw ng Pagbasa”, I Caught You Reading and Reading Camp.

“Those activities give exposure to new knowledge and proper behavior since children's tales regularly present in English lesson,” she added.

The students were asked to read simultaneously on the 27th day of November.

Meanwhile, students from higher sections were caught teaching other student from lower section to read and this caused them to win a friend.

Teachers and parents were excited to the Reading Camp wherein the students in every grade level compete with each other.

Advisers from the lower section were glad that their students made also on the top.
